Redwood Room opened the day after Prohibition ended in 1933. Coincidence? We prefer to think of it as a calling — a fitting beginning for a place with an instinct for doing things a little differently.

 

A place where dramatic redwood paneling carved from a single 800-year-old tree provides a backdrop for design-forward lounge furnishings.  Where always-rotating digital creative complements the Gustav Klimt artwork that still hangs today. Iconic juxtapositions of changing times and changing people that bring a unique energy that’s been present from the start. 

 

We have always moved to our own rhythm; shaped by music, atmosphere, mixology, conversation and the eclectic energy of a city after dark.

 

Nearly a century later, that spirit remains. It’s a place where music is meant to be heard, cocktails are meant to be savored, conversation is meant to linger and the night is meant to unfold.

 

Today, Redwood Room is where San Francisco goes to be deliberately, beautifully analog. Part cocktail lounge, part listening room, part late-night salon, it’s a place for people who appreciate the difference between old and timeless. 

 

Rooted in San Francisco but inspired by the world's great social rooms, from jazz clubs and listening bars to glamorous hotel lounges and intimate speakeasies, Redwood Room brings a contemporary sensibility to the timeless pleasures of going out.
